It is an honor for me to assume my duties as the Ambassador of His Majesty the King of Morocco to this great country, one with which we enjoy deep bonds of friendship and cooperation.

The close relations between the Royal Family of Morocco and the Imperial Family of Japan were demonstrated during the 2005 State visit of His Majesty King Mohammed VI.

Sixty years ago, Japan and the Kingdom of Morocco established diplomatic ties. Since then, our two countries have cooperated closely in political, diplomatic and economic affairs as well as in diverse fields such as human development, education and culture. Our partnership draws its strength from our shared values, interests and longstanding cooperation.

The economic and trade relations between our two countries have seen steady rise and today many Japanese corporations have established successful business in Morocco. These companies recognize and appreciate my country’s sustainable development, open market and unique geostrategic location as Morocco is located at the crossroads of Europe, Africa and the Middle East.

Morocco has cut tax tariffs under its commitments to the World Trade Organization, as well as signed several bilateral and multilateral Free Trade Agreements with the European Union and the United States.

People to people exchanges have become a very important pillar of our bilateral relations covering tourism, culture as well as academic cooperation.

As Ambassador of the Kingdom of Morocco to Japan, I shall devote my efforts to further advancing this excellent partnership and to enhance the relations between our two countries across all fields of interest.
